Reduce Complexity to ship faster

The monorepo is back and we're here for it. Shipping fast means cutting technical setup complexity and human complexity, controlling what your team (including your agents) can consume and own.

Speed in software delivery is rarely limited by how fast people type. It is limited by how many repositories, pipelines, environments and handovers a change has to pass through before it reaches a user.

The case for the monorepo

One repository per product means one place to search, one set of tooling and atomic changes across frontend, backend and infrastructure. Dependencies stay visible, and a refactoring stops being a coordination project between teams.

A monorepo is also a better workspace for AI agents. An agent that can see the whole system makes fewer wrong assumptions than one that only sees a fragment of it.

Cut human complexity too

Technical setup is only half of it. Every additional team boundary adds meetings, tickets and waiting time. Small teams that own a product area end to end, from discovery to operations, ship faster than large teams that pass work between specialists.

Control what you consume

Every library, service and tool you add is something your team and your agents must understand and maintain. Keep a short list of approved building blocks, review additions deliberately and remove what is no longer used. Less to own means more time to ship.
