Some news we have been looking forward to sharing: the finanzen.net group has acquired vickii. The team around Lukas Söllner, Alexander Brils and Jai Bheeman now builds AI products at finanzen.net, with Lukas as Head of AI. First up: new AI features for the broker finanzen.net ZERO.
Where it started
In 2023, vickii and HUBBLR were neighbours in Münster's old town, a few streets apart. The founders wanted to make the stock market approachable for young people who had never bought a share, with plain language instead of jargon. We liked the idea and liked the team even more, so HUBBLR Ventures backed vickii in its pre-seed round in September 2023.
A year in the same team
We didn't want to just write a cheque. For a year, Fabio, a product manager from HUBBLR, worked inside the vickii team, as part of it rather than as an outside consultant, and shaped the product together with the founders. Florian and Cedric stayed close as sparring partners on product, technology and the hard questions of building a company.
When it counted
When finanzen.net came along, Florian worked through the transaction with the founders. He helped them prepare for the technical due diligence and get through it, so finanzen.net saw what we had seen for a long time: a product and a codebase worth building on.
